What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback (NFB) is a non-invasive and non-pharmacological method to train your brain. Neurofeedback training uses real-time analysis of brain waves and real-time feedback to improve the brain state. Through the guidance of ExeBrain team, the nervous system could function better through learning self-regulation skills.

Brain Optimization and Peak Performance

According to the empirical researches from the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), neurofeedback training can improve many physical and psychological conditions, such as sleep disturbance, anxiety, depression, migraines, ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), and traumatic brain injury, etc. These symptoms can be improved through the neuro-optimization of the brain.

Real-Time Feedback Training

According to qEEG results, neurofeedback training uses the latest technology to analyze brainwave signals and compare them with ideal brain patterns in real time, and provide immediate visual or auditory feedback.

Best Brain State

During the learning process, the neurons of training area of brain would be strengthened through the learning, and the mechanism called “neuroplasticity”. Generally, most conditions will be improved after 10-20 sessions. For the best brain state, it should take 20-40 sessions, and regular neurofeedback training is better for brain health.

Basic training session

The stability and activation of the brain
Through Neurofeedback learning, the neural system would be reactivated. Generally, after 5-10 sessions of a basic course, the brain will be improved. Next, advanced course will enhance many conditions of brain-aging, such as insomnia, depression, memory loss, and so on.

Advanced training session

Brain optimization training
For specific groups, such as business managers, or competition athletes. Brain Optimization Training can not only enhance work efficiency, but also maintain stable and perfect performance when under pressure.

The neurofeedback training consists of three main core components: counseling and assessment, brain mapping and analysis, and neurofeedback training.

Counseling and Assessment

The neural networks of brain are very complex, and this is not only because of gene, but also the result of many factors over a long period of time in various living environments, including both psychological and physiological interactions. The purpose of first assessment will allow therapists to gain an initial understanding of your state of mind, body, and cognitive function.

Brain mapping (QEEG)

Quantitative electroencephalogram (QEEG) is also known as Brain Mapping. Brainwave activity may reflect both psychological and physiological functions. The brain’s electrical activity will be recorded at 19 sites on the surface of the scalp, and then the results are analyzed to create a multi-color brain map that indicates brain functions. An assessment of QEEG lasts approximately one hour.

Report and neurofeedback training course

A BCIA-certified psychologist of Exebrain will explain the results of QEEG and suggest a list of personalized NFB protocols based on the client’s chief problems. Neurofeedback results will vary with each individual, Exebrain provide one-on-one service. We will monitor the outcome within 5 sessions of intervention with neurofeedback and reassess the effectiveness of NFB via both qEEG and psychological assessment. Safe and Non-Invasive Electrode Caps

The electrodes on the brainwave cap are completely safe, as they only collect neural signals relative to the position on the participant’s head. These electrodes do not emit any electrical currents, nor do they contain any invasive substances. Please feel confident in undergoing the evaluation.

FAQ

Can medication use be reduced during neurophysiological feedback training?
It is recommended that you continue taking medication as prescribed by your doctor and refrain from adjusting the dosage on your own during neurofeedback training. If you have concerns about your medication, it is advisable to consult your attending physician. However, many clients undergoing training may have the opportunity to reduce medication usage after discussions with their doctor.
